Something doesn’t feel quite right with your memory… but you can’t clearly explain why.
The Launex Cognitive Pattern Check™ is designed to help you observe how thinking and memory are working in everyday situations. It focuses on recognising patterns — not scoring performance. This is not a test and it is not a diagnosis.
How to use the Launex Cognitive Pattern Check™
- Download the Launex Cognitive Pattern Check™ PDF
- Complete the tasks in a natural setting without guiding or correcting responses. The intent is not for these questions to feel like a test but to form part of a natural conversation to observe natural reactions and responses.
- Record what you observe, not just the answers, but how they are reached
How to create a baseline:
- Complete both Task 1 and Task 2 for each section during your first session
- This provides a clearer picture of how thinking is working across different situations
To observe patterns over time:
- Repeat the check at similar times of day (morning, midday, evening)
- Alternate between group Task 1 and group Task 2, or repeat both where needed
- Look for consistency, changes, or emerging patterns
Important:
Some items in this check (such as objects or shopping items) can be changed if needed. However, if you do make changes, make a note of what was used so patterns can still be observed over time.
What to pay attention to:
This tool is not only about the answers given, but about what you notice while the person responds. Use the Notes section under each question to record what you notice while the person responds.
Pay attention to:
- Pausing before answering
- Needing prompts
- Losing track of the question
- Changes in confidence
Small changes in attention, confidence, and response can become clearer over time when written down.
