How The Course and Training Works

Launex courses and training combine structured online learning with scheduled live training (where included). This page explains how access, phases, and live sessions operate so that expectations are clear from the outset.

Access and Enrolment

When you purchase the Dementia Care & Understanding: A Family Pathway or the LDCS Pathway, you are enrolled into the online learning environment automatically.

Your access is linked to the option you purchase and begins from the date of enrolment. Different courses and packs provide different access periods, which are outlined below.

Course Structure

All Launex Dementia Care & Understanding Pathways are organised into phases. Each phase focuses on a specific stage of understanding and navigating dementia. Phases are designed to be followed in sequence. Knowledge, tools, and frameworks introduced in earlier phases are used and expanded on in later phases, creating a coherent learning pathway rather than standalone topics.

Online Learning Content

Each phase includes structured online learning material, written to support clarity and practical understanding.

Some phases also include downloadable tools and resources, provided as PDF files. These are intended to support learning before, during, and after live training sessions (where applicable), and may be saved or printed for personal use.

Live Training Sessions (Where Included)

Some Launex Dementia Care & Understanding Pathway options include live training sessions alongside the online learning content.

Where live training is included:

Live training sessions run on scheduled dates. Learners are allocated to a cohort based on the programme option they purchase. Cohorts run in structured learning blocks, and your session details will be confirmed by email after your enrolment has been reviewed by our Coaching & Training Team.

Once you book a live session, the system will automatically send:

  • A booking confirmation
  • A reminder one week before
  • A reminder one day before
  • The joining link on the day of the session

Live sessions are not booked or managed manually.

Access Periods

Access to online Dementia Care & Understanding Pathways content is provided for a defined period, based on the option you purchase.

  • Each individual phase includes one month of access
  • Pack access reflects the number of phases included
  • Courses that include the Full Pathway provide 12 months access

Access periods begin from the date you are enrolled into the course.

Learner Responsibility

By purchasing a Launex course, you are responsible for:

  • Booking yourself into any live training sessions included with your option
  • Attending scheduled sessions, you have booked
  • Making use of the access period provided

This structure ensures clarity, fairness, and consistency across all learners.

A Supportive Approach

Launex Dementia Care & Understanding Pathways are designed to inform, guide, and support individuals, families, and professionals working with or affected by dementia.

They do not replace medical, legal, or professional advice, but aim to provide structured understanding, practical guidance, and confidence in navigating complex situations.
